(Exposition on Luke 5 by Bro Blessan)


Huge crowds thronged Jesus wherever He went .

One such day, when the crowds were "pressing in on Jesus "
he got onto a boat !

Question - Of the thousands of boats that were docked on the
lake shore, he saw TWO boats.Why did Jesus get on Peter's Boat ?
Answer - Well for the same reason Jesus stood under the tree
on which perched little Zachaeus !
Jesus says,"I want YOU Peter !

- thrust out a little from the land and spoke to the crowd

Question - Why did Jesus move away from the crowd ? Shouldnt
he have been nearer the shore ? Shouldnt he be close to the crowd ?

Answer - If the boat is docked , then Simeon wont be needed , but if
the boat is in the water , who will steady the boat when Jesus is preaching?
Simeon cant leave the boat and go and in the middle of the water , Simeon
cant leave the boat and go wash nets !! He had no choice but to listen to Jesus
share the Word .

and when he had finished speaking -

Jesus spoke to the crowds on the shore , but there was one with him on the boat
who heard him speak all the sermon thru - Poor Peter.Jesus SAW him for a great
WORK on EARTH.Many a times Jesus will not directly speak to you, coz He knows
you wont listen.Being the wise God HE is, He will "put you in a spot" and then
speak the Word.

How many of us have been in pretty difficult spots and had no choice but to listen
to the WORD ? JESUS says,"Peter, I need you "

and WHEN he had FINISHED speaking -

To the blind man, Jesus didn't teach on the Word. To the bleeding woman Jesus
didn't spend time teaching, but for Peter - He made him sit through a SERMON.

WORD FIRST , then Jesus turned to address the NEED !!

Simon, Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch of fish !

Jesus didnt ask Peter !! He knew it all along that Simon Peter had struggled
to make his ends meet. Then why didnt Jesus do the Miracle first? and the
Sermon later ? Lets look at Peters response

"Master - at your word .. I WILL"

How did this change come about? coz he been listening to what Jesus spoke all
along ..Now Peter is ready to get some Faith in ..At your WORD I WILL

Wow Wow Wow !! I cant barely hold the revelations in !! Its POWERFUL !!

Lets continue with the drama -

Result "and WHEN they HAD dont this , they inclosed a HUGE Multitude "

The Miracle is not just to feed Peter's belly ,

he beckoned unto his partners which were in the other ( SECOND) ship

Jesus had his eyes on the SECOND BOAT too and HE chose to call them this way ..
through Peter and through the Miracle in Peter's life !

vs 10 says these partners were JAMES and JOHN !!

JESUS SAW them TOO !! but they are going to come through YOU !!
Jesus says, " I need you PETER "

vs 11 - THEY FORSOOK ALL and went with him..Why ??

look at the word "THEY" .Tho Jesus got on Peter's boat ....
Not just PETER - BUT JAMES , JOHN and ANDREW too..

See the AWESOME DRAMA of GOD'S ELECTION !!

I feel like shouting JESUS says , " I NEED YOU PETER"

vs 8 and vs9 vs 11 - when Peter SAW , he FELL down !!

Look what the Miracle did - It confirmed the Deity of Jesus ! and
APPOINTED some people for a DIVINE WORK in HISTORY !!

and Jesus Appoints him with this DIVINE PROCLAMATION

"Fear NOT , Henceforth , I will make you FISHERS of MEN "

Jesus had no problems with Peter's personality. If God made you
then He also knows how to repair you.

But in that Awesome PROCLAMATION , JESUS Said

" I WILL MAKE YOU " Leave it upto Jesus !!

What God plans to accomplish through you will shake the
ground beneath your feet ..thats why He said,"FEAR NOT"

Gods work through you WILL ALWAYS Be BIGGER THAN YOU !!

so FEAR NOT , for I WILL MAKE YOU !! says Jesus

Blessed ?Aye are you blessed ? Is it Shouting and Rising up inside you ?

( I have taken the liberty of presenting what Bro Blessan spoke in my style , but it
maintains the Spirit with which he spoke . I have added more revelations where the
Holy Spirit spoke so into my heart as I meditated on it.But ALL CREDIT
to Bro Blessan. I Thank the LORD for a Man like HIM !!)

GIANT SLAYER TRILOGY PART THREE

Generations later, a small strapping lad whom even his father didn’t
think him fit enough to be a soldier in the army and delegated him
as a lowly shepherd boy was SEEN by GOD .

Look at what YHWH told Samuel, “ I have SELECTED a King for MYSELF
among his sons” and when Samuel anointed David with oil , the BIBLE
says the spirit of YHWH rested mightily upon David from that day
forward. (NASB version) David told Saul, “While I was tending sheep
…I have killed both the lion and the bear and this UNCIRUMCISED
Philistine will be like one of them”

I have always thought that David was anointed to kill the lion and
the bear and that’s why he did what he did. This passage tells us
that the anointing came only later – AFTER he killed the LION and
the BEAR . Evidently he knew the terms of the Covenant –
whatever shape they came in , he refused to let them rule. LION
BEAR, GIANT..NO trespassing! Now do you see Why GOD SELECTED
DAVID ?!! He was a practiced killing “his’ giants before he went for
the BIG ONE !

We want God to use us to kill the GOLIATHS of the Land, but wait ,
First kill the LION, Kill the BEAR who is trespassing your land and
stealing away the sheep under your care ! Then even if you are holed
up in the depths of this big wide world, God will send His anointed
prophet to where you are !!

And when that happens, look at what God will cause people to
do for you.

I Samuel 16: 18 says of “a young man” who spoke to King Saul,
“I have seen a son of Jesse ..who is a skilful musician, a mighty man
of valor , a warrior , one prudent in speech, and a handsome man
and YHWH is with him”

People unknown to you will recommend your name to the President
and to the people in high positions.

They will say of you ‘YHWH is with you!’
THE ANOINTING WILL TAKE YOU PLACES WHERE YOU CAN’T GO!


Look at this wonderful passage of the Scripture :

2 Samuel 2: 1-4 says David inquired of the Lord where should I be
anointed King and it’s interesting that the YHWH LORD said,
“to HEBRON” Whoooo!! Interesting !!

Now it has come to its HEIGHT of GLORY- Israel’s favourite King was
crowned in HEBRON – Amazing that a GIANT SLAYER is crowned
KING in the Land formerly known as the LAND of the GIANT ARBA!!
Isaiah 62 :3 is for you : “ Gentiles shall see thy righteousness and all
kings they glory and thou shall be called by a NEW NAME , which
the mouth of YHWH shall name”

O! KINGS and PRIESTS of the KINGDOM – Hasn’t he promised, “Take heart,
I have overcome the world”! Onward Christian Soldiers, marching as to
WAR!! Again let us look at some interesting scriptures

Numbers 13:2 and 6 say Caleb was a leader among the sons of Judah.
I Samuel 17:12 says David belonged to the tribe of Judah.
Mathew 1:1 begins by wrapping it all in the verse “THE BOOK of generation of
JESUS CHRIST, the SON of DAVID, the SON of ABRAHAM.

(Wow, I don’t doubt whether it was actually the Holy Spirit who inspired
Mathew to write that cumbersome genealogy. It ain't boring anymore! )

Jesus chose to come from the lineage of Judah. THE LION of the TRIBE of JUDAH

And outside Judah’s city gates, on the MOUNT of GOLGOTHA , He CONQUERED
the GREATEST GIANTS of all – DEATH and SIN !! Now He holds the Keys of Death
and Hades and Beckons to all who would care to listen -
Isaiah 62 : 4 says “ Thou shalt be a Crown of Glory in the hand of the LORD and a
ROYAL DIADEM in the hand of thy GOD”

Do you RECEIVE THIS TODAY? Blessings to all!

GIANT SLAYER TRILOGY – PART TWO

We have seen how Hebron was where Abraham buried
Sarah. Sarah was the Mother of the Promise .It was where
the co-labourer of Abraham was buried. She helped bring
forth the Promise to the world.

Genesis 23 says Abraham buried Sarah in the cave of field
of Macphelah facing Mamre ( that is Hebron) in the land
of Canaan. So the field and the cave that is in it were
deeded over to Abraham for a burial site by the sons of Heth.
It’s interesting to note that Hebron was called Kiriath Arba
even in the times of Abraham and the people of the land
respected Abraham so much that they said “Hear us my Lord,
you are a MIGHTY PRINCE among us.” What had happened to
the children of Abraham that generations later they called
themselves GRASSHOPPERS before the very people that
bowed down before their FATHER ?

My Brother , My Sister WHOSE CHILD ARE YOU ?
Do you know WHO CALLS HIMSELF YOUR BROTHER ?

Hebron was earlier occupied by Giants – and they named it
Kiriath Arba – after the father giant Arba who begat Anak,
who in turn had three giant clans – Ahiman , Sheshai and
Talman. It was at this land that Caleb boldly proclaimed;
Let us go up at once for YHWH is with us. The unbelief of the
Israelites stopped Caleb from carrying out his mission.
Forty Five years later, Caleb went ahead and “dispossessed”
the three giants and renamed it Hebron. Othniel, his nephew
and later his son in law caught hold of his spirit and became a
GIANT SLAYER himself. Speak of Impartation.

Joshua 14:14-15 says Hebron , THEREFORE , became the
INHERITANCE of CALEB the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite
BECAUSE that he wholly followed YHWH , God of Israel.
CAN you see this ? What was deeded to Abraham finally
became an inheritance to

ONE MAN – ONE who DARED to BELIEVE in YHWH.

Do you see the New Testament as a Title Deed? Our Lord has
already won the Victory over all .

GO IN AND POSSESS the LAND –by FAITH in our Lord!

Where did you bury your God given Promise/Dream? Is it
today known by the GIANTS living in that land? Today if you
believe; the LORD wants to give it back to you for an INHERITANCE !
Where were u Buried and Bowed down? IF you will, (again I say IF)
believe, IT will be your INHERITANCE ! Keep it for generations !

God has called us to a life of endless testimonies.( Pastor Chris)

GIANTS IN THE LAND

But many Christians don’t seem to like or some others like me just don’t know that there are giants in the lands to conquer. Israelites were surprised at everything they saw in the land of Canaan. When God promised Canaan to the Israelites, he didn’t mention the Giants in the land. But HE sure did say, “A Land flowing with milk and honey “.Can you dig that? God promised them the Land and let the Giants run loose!! We might think God is pretty suicidal. If so, we are in good company. Those who died in the desert thought the same!!

Take Care – Huge Problems Precede High Promotions. IF GOD wants to FAST TRACK your PROMOTION, He is going to put you through some HEAVY DUTY PROBLEMS!

God is not an unjust God. God has called us from faith to faith. Faith is useless, unless it’s tested.
How else do we know that we have crossed over from LEVEL ONE to LEVEL TWO !!

Numbers 13:22
Now Israelites came to the Land of Negev as far as HEBRON where dwelt 3 Giants (or tribes of Giants) the Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai .They belonged to Anak.
Verse 28 says – WE(the spies) SAW the CHILDREN of ANAK there. Well so did Caleb and Joshua !!
Why is it that some of us see the Children of ANAK and some of us see the LORD our God?
(Number 14: 7-10)
Look at what Joshua and Caleb saw,

The land IS EXCEEDING good
DON’T FEAR the People of the land (He didn’t even call them GIANTS)
for they are BREAD (Oops!! He meant EASY PREY in our lingo) for us…
their defense is departed from them ( now HOW did he see THAT?)
fear them not for the LORD is with US ( He meant Hey Look Here , the Jehovah LORD is
with us, not them. So THEY better FEAR US!)

Christians, REFUSE to FEAR and WORRY for anxiety never works. (Pastor Chris).

Instead be strong and courageous. Let’s look through our faith filled eyes and see what the Word tells us about your situation. The manual is the Word.

Now Caleb is 85 years old and he has come to the same place he had said “ Let us go up at ONCE “
Look at the order of things. Joshua gave him the land – again giants and all. Nothing is changed 


Joshua 15:13-14, 15, 16, 17

Now Joshua gave to Caleb, Kiriath Arba. Arba being the father of Anak.

So here we know the root cause for all these GIANTS - ARBA and the land was called KIRIATH ARBA.

And CALEB ( look again at the word “AND”-HE FIRST had the land from the LORD – and THEN HE ….)

DROVE OUT ( the Hebrew word is yarash- TO DISPOSSESS ..does it strike a chord ? )

the THREE sons of ANAK – Sheshai , Ahiman and Talmai , the children of Anak.

(The BIBLE reiterates their names and their status – children of Anak .. UNTILL WE DISPOSSESS the GIANTS from the LAND even after 40 years they gonna play golf there and GOD will not change a thing , except put GIANT Number TWO – Sheshai ahead of GIANT Number ONE - Ahiman !! and that’s a pretty sorry consolation.

Unless we pass a particular test, God will just not promote us. It’s not safe for us and we are not much good for Him either.

GIANT KILLERS BEGETS GIANT KILLERS

We are now introduced to a third GIANT KILLER in the play and his name is Othniel – the son of Caleb’s brother. He went ahead and SMITES the people ofDebir. It must have been a pretty awesome achievement because Othniel got to marry Caleb’s daughter . You see Othniels daddy died in the desert and he must have been young when Numbers 13 happened. He was obviously raised up by Caleb and
now do u see the same spirit in Othniel as was in Caleb !!
Be careful whom you stick around with , you gonna CATCH THEIR SPIRIT , literally !

HEBRON from KIRIATH ARBA

This is another matter of deep study and I will condense it – Hebron was where Abraham had built an altar and where Sarah was buried and this land was important for the JEWS,and CALEB got it !

If today your life is defined by the Giants running rampage there , its your SEASON to call TIME – OUT FOLKS .I am coming and henceforth this land will be called HEBRON!

Later in history, HEBRON became the ROYAL CITY of DAVID !

Oh ZION , you cry “THE LORD HAS fORSAKEN ME “ Hear now the Word of the LORD to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nations abhoretth, to a SERVANT of rulers “ KINGS shall see and arise , princes shall worship , because the LORD is faithful and HE will CHOOSE thee , for I AM YHWH and they shall NOT be ashamed who WAIT for ME” ( Isaiah 49)

ARISE oh ROYAL CITY , your KING is COMING !! and SWIFT VENGEANCE is in HIS HAND !!

Wen love like a storm rages

and heart like a leaf flutters

Wen dreams rise on wings

and hopes take up flights

Reason lost in Insanity

Caution flies in the Winds

Legs like sea waves billow

Upon them your life follows ...

Hurt within in passions uproar

distance lose their value..

The Scriptures quoted Against Women ministering in Churches are

1 Tim 2: 11,12 and 1 Corinthians 14:34..and I use the KJV for the proper translations ..

1Cr 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but [they are commanded] to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

1Cr 14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

1Cr 14:36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

Here the Apostle Paul is talking about those women who kept speaking in church services vs 34 – but they are commanded to be under obedience .. the context tells me that there seems to be a relational problem with their husbands …

Otherwise what will women who have no husbands do ? vs 35 …if they will learn anything ..let them ask their husbands …

Here the emphasis is on Learning and women asking questions in church to learn !!! I mean if they were preaching..Where does this bit of learning come into the picture ?

How many of us would like to have our Ministers learn while Preaching ?!!

So, we can safely conclude that this verse is talking about keeping silence in church while the teaching is going on? I stress then that they were speaking in church to learn something and that too they were interrupting the preaching going on by so doing .

Paul was talking to Timothy his student and pastor of a church in Ephesus the same thing


1 Tim 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

1 Tim 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

Look again at the emphasis on learn here. Now here he is talking about Woman USURPING authority over the (a) man …. Telling us that He had some authority over her in the first place !!

Look closely at the word used for Man and you will know that it is normally translated husband in a relational context. [ Gk Strong 435 ] or look at the Definite article The , rightly translated in KJV and wrongly translated in many other versions .

As Ps Chris says, Mary was the first woman to preach the Resurrection Gospel to the Disciples ..the Lord Jesus did not count her any less worthy ..Now again Gaius many believe is a woman to whom John the Apostle wrote his episteles ..In the book of Acts,
Philip’s daughters preached(prophesied) with signs and wonders ..so even the Holy Spirit didn’t count them less worthy to minister His presence..

Having said that Who am I to count them any less ?

After a careful study of the Bible I find that WOMEN ARE NOT PROHIBITED TO PREACH , MINISTER IN CHURCHES !!

Hola Guys!!!!


Hope you Guys had a Rocking Christmas Season!!!! Incidentally mine turned out to be better than I had imagined . My Pastor invited me over to Punjab coz he happened to go for his vacations there and thought it a great idea if I tagged along !!! Now , how on earth he happened to come up with that Idea , it beats my muddled brain completely , but the fact remains PUNJAB is a ROCKING place !!!! even with ME around !!!

One of the highlights of my time there was a CAR TRIP to RANJIT SAGAR Dam somewhere up there near Pathankhot…. Imagine the fright of my life when the Car zipped past a motorcycle at over 80 km /hr and we barely missed a frightened woman
Right in the centre of the Road ..am sure that Woman saw heaven , hell and the deep sea all together in that split second ..Unfortunately friends , the pics that we had clicked remains on the Mobile Cam …Hopefully , our Friend BANKA (YES HE WAS THE DARE DEVIL of a driver) will bring it over when he comes over to Delhi.

Maybe I hope to see those guys there again for my next X-mas!!! And yes we are planning to bring the Band over to Delhi for a Jam at a Mall nearby … And on the 25 th nite Glorious Jammed late into the nite and it was a treat...After all these years I was among the youth … It was a Revitalizer of Sorts for me!!!! We had Captured that on our Digi Cam …They will be uploading it on You tube Soon !!!

And my suggestion is if you ever feel right in the pits...Pack up and go all out to Punjab!!! Since my trip was not planned, I traveled Ticket less on a Jammu Mail Sleeper Compartment that was supposed to seat 72 persons and carried well over 100 people ..Taking pity on my condition a Generous Fauji from Orissa offered me butt space on his seat which well would have belonged to the TTE, if Laloo decides to place a TTE in each and every Compartment … Coupled with the Cold Freezing Nite Journey and the liters and litres of ….you know what …people were peeing into the Railway tracks …I had much less time enjoying the Seat I was provided , and Well in all the time in between I remember praying a lot of fraud , fake pious prayers ... “ So What’s New ? ” , Says my God !!! He has a fine sense of humour I say.

In between programs I read through a biography on Sadhu Sundar Singh and seated on the verandah on that cold winter morning I fully realized what it meant to be stripped naked and thrown out of the house at nite just because the beatific Sadhu put his trust on the One that Was Crucified for him !! We fail to comprehend the extent of his sufferings sitting in our cozy couches!!! Now I realize why Jesus Loves Such as these !! They are His precious on earth!!! What a privilege!!!
